    Non-profit Governance and Management

    An overview of management in Canada’s non‐profit and voluntary sector. Examines the size, scope, structure, functions, value bases and uniqueness of the non‐profit sector, plus the differences among the non‐profit, public and private sectors. Topics include board governance, leadership and board relations, stakeholder relations, strategic planning, volunteer recruitment and motivation, and client engagement. Students analyze how management concepts, models, principles and techniques have validity as applied in the context of non‐profit and voluntary sector organizations.
